![]() I don’t think I’m interested in compressing and do not want to lose quality. I just rip then rip again using the final MKV and removing most audio and subtitles. It works well and a free video converter. The tool has its own set of decryption tools. This tool is available for Windows, Linux as well as Mac. Also I’ve seen people talk about compressing files, but I don’t do this either. MakeMKV is a tool to make digital backups and a freeware video transcoder that is fast and easy to use. I know I’ve read about transcoding, but I still really don’t understand what it means. ![]() I did manually download the sdf.bin file and placed it in c:usersME.makemkv but I still cannot successfully open any blueray nor any ultra disks. ![]() Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed. Would I have any issues playing my MKVs from either drive? So far I have not seen any issues with my external HDD. Downloading latest SDF to C:UsersME/.MakeMKV. I’m new to ripping but so far I have been ripping my Blu-ray’s with MakeMKV then storing on a 3TB WD External drive that I connected via USB to me router. ![]()
